The project involved the construction of a 25x17m in-situ concrete deck swimming pool finished to FINA competition standard. An Indoor Sports Hall with spectator seating area at a mezzanine level a Gym and Changing areas, Steam room Sauna and other associated leisure facilities.
The pool will be fitted with a movable floor to facilitate a range of swimming activities to suit all ages. The building structure is a combination of structural steel and insitu concrete, with exposed high grade finished insitu concrete soffits. The facade consists a large number of interface details, plaster, sto render, curtain walling and louvered cladding to plant areas.
One of the success of the project was the execution of a high number of sustainability measures including Combined Heat and Power system, Rain water recycling for use in WC's, and the use of high specification insulation.
