The Bausch + Lomb Waterford city campus extends over 55,000 sqm where 1,400+ staff produce market-leading contact lenses. Bausch + Lomb identified the requirement for the expansion of the existing campus. The challenge to the project team was to meet this market demand in the shortest possible timeframe without any disruption to production in the existing facility.
BAM delivered the 5552m² expansion to the northern & western sides of the existing campus. The facilities provided include a new Iso 8 (class 100,000) clean room production facility, cartoning facilities, staff accommodation and link corridors, new plant rooms, minor internal and external modifications, and the provision of a mezzanine storage area to the existing building. The expansion also includes a new staff entrance and car parking facilities.

Works included a new plant room with minor internal and external modifications and the provision of a mezzanine storage area to the existing building.
The project also included all associated plant & equipment, site works, site fencing, signage, staff parking facilities, and alterations to the internal road network and drainage.
All works were carried out within and adjacent to a live production environment.
