New interchange constructed in live traffic comprising

• 3 km dual carriageway
• Bridge installation - 2 span overbridge on piled reinforced earth embankments, pedestrian underpasses, draiang, rock slop stabilisation and major piling works.
• Associated tie-ins/side roads and signalling
• Major traffic interface to facilitate 100,000vehciles using the existing rouanbout daily
• Design & Build project completed 2 months ahead of schedule

The Bridge installation involved

• twin span constructed during a 36 hour window each deck comprising of 105t 37.5m span precast W-Beams lifted using a 500t crane
• Precast parapet installation during the 36 hr bridge installation

Traffic Management: Measures taken

• Independent road safety audit on traffic management plans
• All traffic management designed to UK Ch. 8
• Temporary speed restriction at 60Kph were put in place
• Variogaurd barrier installed to separate traffic in contra flow situations
• 24 hr freephone service to record complaints
• Continual maintenance of traffic management plan
