The Mater Stop Diaphragm Wall project includes the construction of 515m of the proposed Mater Stop on the Metro North line.
The diaphragm walls have a nominal thickness of 1.50 m and in general a bond length of 2.0-3.0m into the rock. Wall depths are between 26 m and 28 m. In soft soils the excavation will be carried out using grabs and in compact ground/rock a hydro mill will be used.
